Is Alpine Shire Council a declared termite area?
Partly. Alpine Shire Council has designated parts of its municipality as termite risk areas.
What this means for your build
In a declared area, new buildings and additions need a termite management system under the National Construction Code, and your building surveyor will look for protection to AS 3660.1 and an installation certificate at handover.
Price termite protection into the job from the start: most of it goes in before and during the slab pour and can’t be added later.
